Project meeting in Barcelona
The THERMOWHEY project partners met in Barcelona, Spain, on December 2nd for a review the progress of the project.
German goverment representatives meets Thermowhey project
German government representatives visit MLANG facilities to discuss the innovation policy of the SME in terms of valorisation of whey through the participation in EU R&D projects to develop new products such as ThermoWhey.
ThermoWhey project will develop a new bio-based thermoformable barrier coating
The project was presented in a KO meeting celebrated by the end of May in Germany
A research project to develop a new bio-based thermoformable barrier coating solution in the wide packaging sector started the last week. ThermoWhey project was launched with the Kickoff meeting celebrated on May 26-27th in Germany, with the whole consortium and the Manunet contact point for Germany Jens Korell.
This 28 months R&D project funded by EC’s Seventh Framework Programme (under the Manunet programme) will deliver whey protein coating with improved thermoformability independently from storage time while maintaining excellent barrier properties to produce packaging for different food, pharma and cosmetic applications.
ThermoWhey consortium celebrates the KickOff meeting
The whole ThermoWhey consortium and the Manunet contact point for Germany, Jens Korrell, met in the black forest for the KickOff meeting of the project on May 26-27. During the meeting the project partners planned the work for the future months. It was also the opportunity to visit the facilities of the partner GEBA, specialist in tooling and thermoformed packaging. Other partners involved in the previous Wheylayer project got to know this new collaborator who will strengthen the consortium in terms of processing and machinery aspects to tackle the challenge of improving whey protein thermoformability (partners stand next to their mascot acknowledging that the new packaging is derived from cow milk).
